Copa Del Rave: Charity Soccer Tournament Expands for 2026 FIFA World Cup

Copa Del Rave, the DJ-driven charity soccer tournament that’s become a cult fixture in Los Angeles since 2019, is stepping onto a much bigger stage for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With the tournament itself spread across 16 cities in the United States, Mexico and Canada, Copa Del Rave is turning its home base into a World Cup hub. Across a multi-week residency at LA nightclubs Academy and Exchange L.A., the project will host a run of match-viewing parties that merge global football with global club culture.

This isn’t just a screen in the corner and a DJ in the background. Each event is built around the countries on the pitch that day, with lineups curated to mirror the sounds of the teams involved. Claude VonStroke will fly the flag for Team USA, while Reggaeton Rave, Gasolina and Bolo’s Vibraza Records bring the energy for Mexico. Blaq Pages and Afrobeats To The World will represent the African diaspora, turning pre- and post-match slots into full-throttle dance sessions. The idea is simple: when the whistle goes, the party doesn’t stop — it changes gear.

All events are free with RSVP, with VIP tables on offer for those who want a more elevated setup. Across the residency, fans can lock in a spot, watch the games, and stay for the club-level production that follows, with a full lineup of DJs, labels and party brands rotating through the schedule.

Behind the strobes and smoke machines sits a clear purpose. Since launching in 2019, Copa del Rave has raised more than $75,000 for a range of charities. This year, proceeds will support Common Goal, the football-focused organization working to create more opportunities for kids to play the sport.

For co-founders Alastair Duncan and Jonathan McDonald, the World Cup window in LA offers a rare alignment: global dance music, DJ culture and the world’s biggest sporting event all converging in their backyard, with a charity component at the core. They’ve credited the DJs, partners and the team at Academy for helping turn the residency from an idea into a fully fledged World Cup companion.

World Cup Entertainment

The World Cup itself is shaping up as a wider entertainment spectacle. Away from the clubs, stars from across the pop universe are lining up for tournament festivities. Madonna, Shakira and BTS have been announced as headliners for the FIFA World Cup halftime show at MetLife Stadium on July 19 — the first time the competition has ever staged a halftime event of this kind.

On the Field

On the field, 2026 will be about goals, drama and national pride. In Los Angeles, it will also be about packed dancefloors, rattling sound systems and a charity project that has quietly grown into one of the city’s most distinctive World Cup side stories.
