DPE x Haier CUP 2026: A New Era for Thai Youth Football

In Bangkok, the future of Thai football just got a serious upgrade.

Haier, the global smart home giant and a heavyweight in sports sponsorship, has stepped firmly into the grassroots game by launching the DPE x Haier CUP 2026 – the first nationwide youth and public football tournament in Thailand for players under 16.

It’s not a small community kickabout. It’s a statement.

Smart Life Meets Grassroots Football

Haier is using football as the latest driver of its “Smart Home to Smart Life” push in Thailand, and the message from the top is clear: sport now sits at the heart of how the next generation lives.

“Today's consumers increasingly value smart living in multiple dimensions,” said Mr. Dong Jianping, President of Haier Electrical Appliances (Thailand) Co., Ltd. For him, “smart” isn’t just about devices and apps; it’s about lifestyle, mindset, and daily habits. Sport, especially among young people, has become a central part of that.

Football, with its reach and emotion, is the perfect vehicle.

The DPE x Haier CUP 2026 is designed to unlock the potential of young Thai players, give them a real competitive platform, and push them to dream bigger in sport. It ties directly into Haier’s broader play: not just selling appliances, but embedding itself in the way families live, move, and aspire.

From Smart Homes to Stadium Lights

Haier’s sports footprint is already global. The brand backs major events such as the Haier Run mini-marathon and the Haier Cup badminton tournament, and it has put its name behind some of the biggest stages in world sport, including the Australian Open and Roland-Garros. It is also an official global partner of Liverpool FC and Paris Saint-Germain.

Now it is taking that experience and brand power into Thai youth football.

“The tournament provides Thai youth with a pathway to higher-level competition and reflects Haier's commitment to building a sustainable sports ecosystem in Thailand,” Mr. Dong underlined.

That word – ecosystem – is no accident. Haier’s business model revolves around connected living. The company is building what it calls a “Home Ecosystem,” where appliances talk to each other, streamline daily life, cut energy waste, and match the expectations of a generation that wants both convenience and sustainability.

By aligning that vision with football, Haier is betting that the same families who cheer in the stands will also buy into its connected, efficient homes.

A Nationwide Tournament With Real Stakes

On the pitch, the scale is ambitious.

The DPE x Haier CUP 2026 will run from April to September 2026, starting with qualifying rounds and building to a final showpiece at the National Stadium (Suphachalasai Stadium) in Bangkok. Organisers expect more than 10,000 participants across the country – not only young athletes, but also parents and local communities drawn into the competition.

This is not just about a trophy. It’s about building a culture.

Mr. Suthon Wichairat, Deputy Director General of the Department of Physical Education, made that point clear. The department, he said, puts strong emphasis on constantly developing youth sports by widening access to opportunities nationwide.

Football, in his view, does more than entertain. It “inspires positive energy and connects youth with broader society and sports communities.” The partnership with Haier, he added, is a concrete example of public and private sectors working together to shape a genuine sports ecosystem.

The aim is bold: raise the standard of youth football competitions in Thailand to an international level and inject new, sustainable momentum into Thai sport.

Big Rewards, Bigger Horizons

The pressure of a national tournament is one thing. The prizes raise the bar again.

The winning team will earn the right to play in a regional friendly tournament featuring youth sides from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. That means travel, different playing styles, and a taste of international football – vital steps for teenagers with serious ambitions.

There is also a unique incentive for standout individuals. Ten “Man of the Match” players from the quarter-final stage will be selected for a special trip to the United Kingdom. Their itinerary: a visit to Liverpool’s museum and stadium, plus a live Premier League match.

For a young Thai footballer, it is the kind of experience that can reshape a dream into a target.

Building Thailand’s Next Football Generation

Behind the marketing slogans and technology talk, the core of this project is simple: give kids more chances to play, to compete, and to be seen.

Haier’s move into youth football builds on its transformation in Thailand. Since 2019, the company has been shifting from a traditional home appliance provider to an IoT-enabled smart home brand, aiming to become a leading smart home ecosystem name in the country. Its global track record is already established – No.1 in Euromonitor International’s Global Major Appliances Brand ranking for 17 consecutive years from 2009 to 2025.

Now the company wants to be part of Thailand’s sporting story as well.

From dusty local pitches to the bright lights of Suphachalasai Stadium, the DPE x Haier CUP 2026 offers a new ladder for young players to climb. The question now is simple: which of these under-16 talents will use this stage to launch a career that stretches far beyond Thailand’s borders?
