Dybala and Roma Negotiations: One Million Euros Apart

Roma and Paulo Dybala are still circling each other, close enough to touch but not yet willing to shake hands on a new deal.

The Argentine forward, speaking to ESPN a few days ago, laid the situation bare without giving anything away. “I'm still a Roma player until the end of the month. Out of respect for the club, I won't talk about my future because I haven't decided yet. Anything can happen. Many times I thought one thing would happen, and instead, it turned out to be completely different.”

It was a calm statement, but it carried the tension of a ticking clock.

For weeks, the feeling around Trigoria was that an agreement was just around the corner. The club want to build around Dybala, the star wants clarity on his role and value. Yet, as reported by Repubblica, the talks have stalled on a very simple, very familiar issue: money.

The gap is not astronomical. One million euros separates Roma’s offer from Dybala’s request. A single digit on a contract sheet, but a symbol of status, trust, and how much the club are prepared to stake on their No. 21 as they plan the next phase.

The negotiations continue, with Roma pushing to extend and adjust his current terms and Dybala holding out for a more advantageous deal that reflects his weight in the squad and on the pitch. What once seemed like a formality has turned into a delicate arm-wrestle.

The calendar adds its own pressure. Dybala himself underlined it: he is a Roma player “until the end of the month.” After that, the landscape could change quickly, for him and for the Giallorossi.

One million euros now stands between continuity and a very different summer for Roma.
