If that position ever changes, Bayern will be the first to know. Only after informing Hainer would Madrid approach the player or his representatives.

In an era of aggressive tapping-up and public brinkmanship, that kind of gentleman’s agreement between two European giants is striking.

All of that leaves one clear conclusion: Michael Olise is highly unlikely to arrive at the Bernabéu this summer. Bayern are holding firm. Madrid, at least officially, are respecting the line.
