Camavinga Faces Uncertain Future as Mourinho's Madrid Receives Offers
Real Madrid’s midfield, long the envy of Europe, is heading for a shake-up. Jose Mourinho wants a new face at the heart of his team, and that almost certainly means a sacrifice. Right now, all eyes are on Eduardo Camavinga.
At 23, the Frenchman should be entering the phase where promise turns into dominance. Instead, he comes off another underwhelming season, one in which he never quite took command of the role many at the club expected him to own by now. At one stage, he even slipped behind Thiago Pitarch in the pecking order – a clear warning sign in a squad built on ruthless internal competition.
That has not scared off suitors. Quite the opposite.
PSG, United and Juventus Circle
Paris Saint-Germain have been tracking Camavinga with intent, tempted by the idea of bringing him back to France and rebuilding their midfield with a player whose ceiling remains high. The attraction is obvious: a French international, still young, with Champions League experience and the athletic profile to thrive in Ligue 1.
Now Manchester United have stepped into the frame.
Journalist Miguel Serrano reports that United have formally registered their interest, asking about Camavinga’s situation and the conditions required to strike a deal. With Casemiro already gone and Manuel Ugarte expected to follow, United’s midfield is being ripped up and redrawn. They have looked at Aurelien Tchouameni, but Camavinga’s name is now firmly on their list as well.
They are not alone. Juventus have also made enquiries, sensing an opportunity in a market where true top-level midfielders are scarce and expensive. For clubs of this size, the fee being discussed is significant but manageable.
Madrid Set the Price – But the Player Resists
Inside the Santiago Bernabeu, the stance is clear. Camavinga is not in the “untouchable” category. Real Madrid are open to offers and have set a price: €60 million.
For a 23-year-old with his profile, that figure will not scare PSG, Manchester United or Juventus. All three can afford it, and all three need exactly what he could, in theory, provide: energy, versatility, and a long-term solution in midfield.
There is, however, one major obstacle.
Camavinga does not want to leave.
Despite the setbacks of the past season, the Frenchman has shown no inclination to walk away from Madrid. He remains determined to fight for his place and prove his worth to Mourinho, even after losing ground in the internal battle for minutes. For a player who arrived with huge expectations, leaving now would feel like unfinished business.
A Fluid Situation with One Likely Fall Guy
The picture remains fluid. Mourinho wants a new midfielder. If Madrid land their target, someone has to go. In a department packed with talent and hierarchy, Camavinga looks the most expendable right now: valuable enough to command a strong fee, yet not so central that the club would refuse to negotiate.
That combination is exactly why the big clubs are circling.
If Madrid push ahead with their midfield rebuild and a new signing walks through the door, the pressure to offload will rise. At that point, the battle will be simple: Camavinga’s determination to stay against the cold logic of the market and a €60 million offer from a club that can promise him a bigger role.
For now, he is still a Real Madrid player. But with PSG, Manchester United and Juventus all in the queue, the question is no longer who wants him.
It is how long Madrid can afford to keep a €60 million asset on the fringes of Mourinho’s plans.
